Holiday Concert

Thank you to Mrs. Agati and Mrs. DeMartinis for another wonderful holiday concert.  Each year, the students do such a beautiful job and amaze me with their talents.  I hope you enjoyed it as much as the students did!

What would it be without some silly photos? Happy Holidays!

Innovation Day

We enjoyed working with first grade on innovation day.  Our challenge was to work together to build the coziest and safest house for our furry creatures we brought in.  We had lots of great homes and some even had TV's and rugs!  They all worked together to complete the task!

Holiday Concert

This Thursday, December 22 will be our Holiday Concert.  The concert is for parents of students in Grade 1-3.  It will begin at 9:00 in the cafeteria.  Mrs. Agati and Mrs. DeMartinis  ask that students dress up for the occasion.  They may wear holiday outfits or any nice outfit but please no tee shirts or sweats.  This is always a nice morning for the students and parents.

It's Electric!

We have been studying electricity in Room 205 and have had lots of fun experimenting.  We talked about what we know about electricity before discovering how it really works.  We began with a battery, tin foil and a small light bulb.  After some experimenting we were all able to light the bulb!  We found out that electricity is a form of energy that provides light, heat (as we felt from the battery), or sound.    Over the week we built different circuits that lit up a light, sounded a buzzer, and even did both.  We also added in a switch to turn it on and off.  We then learned about conductors and insulators.  We found many objects are conductors including us and even more that were insulators.  It was exciting to hear all there screams when they got it their circuits to work!  Then when they went on to create even more complex ones that worked! Be sure to ask your child all about what they have learned during science.
