The month of January flew by! We have continue to work on many things in Room 205. In math, we have learned about area, data, and now we are working on using strategies and properties to add and subtract. This is very important because our next topic will have us adding and subtracting fluently within 1000. In social studies, we learned about the Industrial Revolution. We got to see first hand how the changes that occurred during this time helped to get us where we are today. Our trip to the Lowell Mills was a great time filled with a lot of information and fun. Now we are working on learning about a famous Massachusetts person. Everyone has been busy researching so that we are able to write our own biography about our person. On March 1, we will conclude this topic with our Wax Museum. Thank you to Mrs. Agati and Mrs. DeMartinis we were able to enjoy the Lexington Symphony. Everyone sat up in their seat when the familiar music of Star Wars came on. Throughout the performance we were taught about how the music has evolved. We have enjoyed doing some experiments with magnets in science as we learn about magnetism. This past month we also have been Book Buddies with Mrs. Petelle's kindergarten class. We love visiting them each Friday to share a story or two with them. We look forward to continuing this as the year continues.
