Your child’s homework is to go on a hunt for writing ideas. It may be things they love or really dislike, something or someone that motivates them, something that they know a lot about, or things that gets us feeling something (happiness or sadness). Your child will need to bring in copies of photos you’ve taken, words or pictures that they cut out from magazines, or printed from online that represent them and their interests. Some ideas may be:
- favorite places they have visited
- sports they play, activities they participate in or favorite teams
- Hobbies that they enjoy
- Pictures of books they have read
- Favorite animals or a pet that they have
- Important people in their life
Anything that allows your child to remember an experience and convey all the feelings that go with that story will work. All the visuals that your child brings in will be cut up and used to decorate their Writer’s Notebook.. Please have all photos, pictures, words, etc. in by Monday, September 11. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
