A Great Start

We had a wonderful first month of school!  It is hard to believe that it is already October.  We have been busy in Room 205.  In science we have been learning about Forces & Motion.  We will be moving onto magnetism and how it effects forces.  We will work on designing our own Maglev trains in class.  We have begun to switch for reading.  Everyone has done this with ease and we have enjoyed reading and writing during our ELA block.  In math we continue to learn about multiplication.  This coming month we will be looking at patterns in multiplication. Be sure to practice your addition facts if you are still unsure of some and you may want to begin practicing your multiplication facts.  We will begin our fluency tests after we finished Topic 2.   Thanks to Ms. Fallon we have been mapping our town of Burlington.  After our field trip we will be finishing them by adding in different landmarks.  There are many writer's in Room 205.  I have read and heard so many wonderful stories by the students.  All of this writing is helping them to get their stories down onto paper.  We will now start to work on the mechanics and adding in great details to make our writing exciting for the reader.   Of course, we continue to earn DOJO points and HOOT cards.  As a school we earned a PJ Day and as a class we reached our class goal and had extra recess!  It has been a great start and I am looking forward to the upcoming month.
